PGU and IPVC (Portugal) Collaboration Capacity Building

The collaboration capacity building meeting between Persian Gulf University and Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo in Portugal was held on June 12, 2023, with the presence of the vice president and international director of the two universities and a group of officials from the faculties and research institutes of the both institutions. The background of the cooperations was reviewed, and It was planned to strengthen relations to a higher level of cooperation.
According to the Director of International Affairs at Persian Gulf University, the Polytechnic University (IPVC) is one of the public universities in Portugal, which is located in the state of Viana do Castelo and has great innovative capacity and stunning industry connections in several specific areas. The university has 6 campuses and 13 faculties, and the impact of their Centre for Interface of Technology and Industry on the innovative business ecosystem is significant and experiential.
Dr. Arash Khosravi mentioned that according to the cooperation program of the two universities, the academic staff and faculties can plan and take action in order to establish cooperation with relavant centers regarding the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2020. It should be noted that the following items were agreed upon in the last meeting:
1- Launching a full fund staff and student exchange program
2- Working on a strategic partnership agreement and innovation partnership agreement
3- Establishing a joint dual degree master program Electrical Engineering
4- Jointly developing innovative products
